I fear you are sadly mistaken, madam.

Serious Sunday - Purrfurmance Review

Sorry we're so late with our Purrfurmance Review of The Mommy, but we wanted to be fair and give her a chance to make up for a somewhat dismal job the first half of this very month due to "computer problems" (like we believe that ol' excuse ). It sure wasn't the most opportune time for her to slack off!

So, let's get this show on the road, shall we?

Review of: The Mommy
Date: November 29, 2009
Reviewed by: Bugsy, Sassy, Callie, Roxy and Pixie, with input from Gypsy and Ziggy

Quantity of Output: Has your purrson posted to your blog daily to give you maximum exposure world wide and make you famous

Well, the first two weeks of THIS month were almost completely silent, with only a couple of posts. Some sort of "computer problem", she said. Yeah, sure. But we gotta say, we did see her futzing around with it a lot those couple of weeks and saying some norty words (we had to cover Ziggy's ears, he's entirely too young for that!), so maybe it was the truth.

And other than that, she's been pretty good about making our posts for us almost every day since we started blogging back at the beginning of June (almost 6 months!), only skipping a day here and there when we were too tired to dictate anything. (She's slacked off a bit the past few weeks on helping us visit our friends daily, though, so that needs some improvement.)

We'll give her 3 paws for this category, notwithstanding earlier this month.

Quality of Output: are you, as snoopervisor, satisfied with your purrsons choice of photos, words: the creativity, imagination, truth, fun and general interest in your postings

We think The Mommy is usually pretty good about choosing funny photos to post, and nothing too terribly embarrassing. Of course, since we help with that, what would you expect? Sometimes she gets a little lazy, though, and just goes for the easy "cute" shot. She also gets a little wordy sometimes, too, and deviates from our careful dictation.

2.5 paws here, we think.

Client Pawticipation: does your purrson provide sufficient ways for your fans to contact you and for you to contact them

We have an email address of our very own, posted in our sidebar for our friends to see, and we can be (and have been) directly contacted in reply to comments we leave on their bloggies as well. We don't have facebook or twitter but honestly, we sometimes do have a hard enough time keeping up with all the blogs so we think we're better off not spreading things too thin.

4 paws here for the email address and knowing our limitations.

Pawticipation (Part II): does your purrson allow you to take part in fun blog world special events, parties, contest and more

We've taken part in many events and parties since we started blogging in June, including International Box Day, World Cat Day, the Hams of the Werld Tour, entries into the Nude Calendar Cats, Meow Like a Pirate Day, Sweet Praline's Slumber Party, and more, and gone to many birthday and gotcha day parties. We haven't entered many contests though, mostly because The Mommy is pretty lame-o when it comes to graphics that take much creativity.

This is a tough one to grade...we've done a lot, but we've also missed a lot.

2.5 will have to do here, and we expect better in the coming year...

Client Satisfaction: are your friends purringly contented with what they see and read on your blog

We usually have between 20-30 comments per post most days, although our visitor count is higher. But at least we do have a regular group that comes back again and again and comments, so we guess that means they like us and we're doing something right.

3.5 here, because she's obviously doing something good, but there's also room to get better.

Overall Rating and comments and suggestions for improvement (in your own words)

Let's see...that would make the overall score...a 3.1, hm? That sounds about right. The Mommy does a pretty good job with our bloggie, we think. She just needs to be a bit more consistent with helping us visit our friends, maybe be a bit more creative with photos and not so wordy in the posts, and let us do more events and contests.

And more stinky goodness. That's always helpful.

Thankful Thanksgiving Thursday

The Kitty Krew would like to wish a very Happy Thanksgiving to our U.S. friends! We hope you all have a wonderful day/long weekend, filled with lots of family, food and fun. Take a moment to remember all that you're thankful for.

We're thankful that we all have a loving and wonderful furever home here with The Mommy, especially Gypsy and Ziggy who have been with us not quite a month and so are celebrating their first Thanksgiving in their furever home. We have a nice, warm, safe house with plenty to eat, lots of toys and good places to sleep, and cuddles and skritches almost any time we want them. We may complain about the flashy box thing or other minor inconveniences (like new little brothers and sisters ) from time to time, but we really know we have it pretty darn good.

We're also thankful for all of our bloggie friends; we've had such fun since we started blogging back in June, meeting and visiting with everyone and making neato friends all over the world. We thank you all for visiting us and leaving wonderful comments!

The Mommy is thankful for us kitties, that for the most part we're healthy and happy, and that Bugsy is doing so well after all his health issues this year. Although small problems have cropped up around the house and with other stuff going on throughout this past year, overall, things are pretty okay around here.

We hope you all have much to be thankful for as well, even if you're not celebrating the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday today!

Tortie Tuesday

The Mommy got a new flashy box thing last month and discovered that it will take clearer, better focused close-ups than the old one did. So guess what she tries to do a lot of now... ::rolls eyes::

Of course, we don't always cooperate and might just happen to move right about the time she goes to snap the photo...

Mancat Monday

Mancats Pixie and Bugsy snoopervise Mancat-in-Training Ziggy playing with the nip nanner...don't want him to overdo it at his young age, y'know!

PS -- The Mommy sez: When Gypsy and Ziggy were adopted, we got quite a few sample packages with coupons for Iams canned food, Iams dry food, Arm & Hammer clumping litter, and various Febreze products. We don't use any of those products but I hate to see the coupons go to waste (they don't expire until April or June or December of 2010). If anyone could use them, send an email to The Kitty Krew email address over there on the sidebar with "coupons" in the subject, and I'll divide them up depending on how many responses I get.

Sunday at the Movies

Bugsy and Pixie aren't the only ones who play with the camera strap while it's hanging down when The Mommy has that flashy box thing out (which is all the time, it seems). I like to grab at it and chew it, too! The Mommy caught me on video a couple of months ago...

Caturday Complaints

I haz a complaint!

The Mommy took me and Ziggy to Dr. Vet today for a check-up, just to make sure everything's okay, as suggested by the shelter. At least, that's what my visit was for. I'm doing perfectly fine, thank you, just because I'm a little shy and maybe had a little problem finding the litter boxes the first few days (hey, I apologized for that!); everything's just peachy otherwise. I even chased after Pixie the other night instead of just letting him pick on me, and was playing with a toy just this morning! So there was absolutely no reason to pack me up in the cage and make me ride in the car to go get poked and prodded by Dr. Vet.

Hey!! I really haz a complaint!

All that happened to Gypsy was a little finger-poking and prodding. *I* had to get a shot and a pill in addition to my poking and prodding. The shot wasn't for being sickie, it was something that had to wait until I was old enough or sumpin' and The Mommy adopted me before the shelter could give it to me (not rabies, I had that shot already, but something else). The pill was 'cuz I had wormies. Ewwwww! So I see your cage and car ride and poking and prodding, and raise you a shot and pill! Ha!

Gypsy: Ummmm, little pest brother, may I remind you that I also got a wormie pill -- 2 of 'em in fact -- "just in case", which was all your fault. Thanks a lot for that.

Sassy sticks her nose in --

Uh hey, kids? If you haz a complaint, y'all are making a good start on how to handle it. But THIS is the way you let it be known...

I HAZ A COMPLAINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Bugster Reports

Howdy peoples! Even though I was on yesterday's Wordless Wednesday post, the rest of The Kitty Krew agreed that I could post again today with an update on how I've been doing, since there were many questions from you, my adoring fans. So here I am again, in all my handsomeness.

For those newish to the bloggie, you can see a summary of the health issues I went through this summer and fall right here. As a really really quick recap, one issue was that I had an eye removed due to a tumor that turned out to be cancerous, so then went through 3.5 weeks of radiation treatments.

Now for the update -- I feel great! Since the last treatment back in early October, I haven't been sick or anything. I went back to Dr. Cancer Vet last week for a one month check-up, just a general exam not any tests (it's way too soon for a new CT scan to see if all the cancer junk is gone), and he said I look super.

However, there is one kind of funny thing...funny weird more than funny ha-ha. I never had any side effects while going through the treatments, and after I was done, Dr. Cancer Vet said that about the only thing that might still happen was possibly losing some furs around my no-eye and having new ones grow in white. Well, up until a few days ago, even that hadn't happened. But all of a sudden, just within this week, it's started -- and really fast! Look at this progression of photos, taken over the past few weeks:

October 21:

November 4:

November 7:

November 12:

November 17:

See how obvious it is in last night's photo, compared to the first few? Even in the photo from the 12th, it's just starting to show. (Of course, lighting and flash effects plus angle of the camera can contribute a little to that, but still...) The Mommy isn't quite sure if that light area is from the furs falling out and showing the lightness underneath due to 'space' between the remaining furs, or if it's actually the new white/light gray furs growing back in - it's very sparse/short so it's difficult to tell for sure.

But you know -- we both decided (even before it happened) that if that's the worst and only side effect I end up with after 18 radiation treatments, we can live with that. After all, I have plenty of white furs anyway so they'll fit in and give me character. (Wait, what Mommy? What do you mean, I'm a real character already??)

So anyways, I'm doing really really great, and best of all, I don't have to go back to Dr. Cancer Vet for 3 whole months now!

Thanks for being so concerned and caring, everyone!

Love,
