Saturday Movie Review

The Great Outdoors, by The Kitty Krew

It was a beautiful early evening here at The Kitty Krew Headquarters yesterday, a little cooler than it has been (which means low 90s or maybe even high 80s by the time she got home, instead of high 90s or low 100s) with low humidity and a nice breeze, and The Mommy got home from that work place thing a little earlier than normal, and that all added up to an hour outside after she got home! Yayness!

She took some movies in addition to the usual eleventy million zillion photos with the flashy box thing, so here we are posting some again. The first one has Bugsy and Sassy, the second one is all Pixie, and the third is mostly Callie with a little Roxy. They're not all that exciting, and they're 3 minutes each which we know is a lot of time to spend at one bloggie for those of you with lots of blogs to visit and little time to do it all, so we'll understand if you don't have time to watch them all. But we also know that sometimes it's just fun to see moving kitties for a change (we know we like to). There's also not much soundtrack, a little of Bugsy meowing in his, and The Mommy talks a little but not much, and some dogs down the street barking a little -- but there's a lot of wind blowing across the microphone in the last two (sorry) so you may just wanna turn the sound down/off.

And with that, here we go! This is Bugsy to start with, and Sassy comes along:

This one is all Pixie:

This one has Callie and some Roxy (the lighting/video is a little wonky on this one, The Mommy lightened it so you can see Callie better when she explores in the bushes, and it affected the beginning especially a little weirdly):

Hope you enjoyed them a little bit! We sure enjoyed our time outside, it was a great evening to be out there.

Finally Friday

Roxy: Hey! There's a bug flying around in here! Did you see that, Pixie?

Pixie: Where? I don't see it!!

Pixie: Can you see it from down there, Callie?

Callie: I think so; here, let me turn on one laser to help you find it!

Alas, the flying buggie got away...

Thursday Things

The Great Outdoors...with Bugsy the Pirate

Ah yes, I vaguely recall the outdoors (being transported to and from the v-e-t's in a cage doesn't count). This bit of grass and sidewalk seems familiar...

Oh yes, and all these bushes! I remember them!

I missed laying in the grass.

With a nice pause on the deck afterwards.

Mommy, I really don't like these 2-week-plus restrictions on not getting to go outside. Can we not have that happen anymore, please?

Srsly.

Wordy Wednesday

As if we weren't wordy enough on Sunday, we're going to be officially wordy again today. But maybe slightly more interesting than the food and litter report. Maybe.

First off, last Friday our new friend Madi gave us the "Oops I Ate It" award. Thank you, Madi!

The rules for this award are:

"When accepting this award you must blog about the food you have stolen when your humans weren't watching. If you have never stolen any food, you must be a very good pup or kitty. You can accept this yummy tray of cookies as your reward!!! Next add the logo of this award to your blog (optional), then nominate at least 5 other furry blogs and let them know by leaving them a message on their blogs."

Well, honestly, most of us don't try too hard to steal food. The Mommy doesn't give us human food as a general rule, so we don't have enough of a taste for it to try and steal it. Oh, we might sniff around when things smell good, but we rarely try and grab it. Pixie does like to get into the milk glass when she's not looking though, so he's probably the most successful at stealing her milk. And Bugsy may have gotten away with a slice of bacon once. But it's not so much that we're very good, we just don't really care.

We don't think this award is very wide-spread yet, so we'd like to give it to the following kitties (if you did already get it, then just ignore us and we're sorry we missed seeing it on your bloggie!):

1. Angel and Kirby
2. Eric and Flynn
3. Dante, Domino and Dylan at Wendy's 3-D Cats
4. Thomas, Charlie and Lola at The Paw Relations
5. All the kitties at Team Tabby

~~~
We were tagged by our friends Ernie, Wally and Zoey at The Island Cats to play The Awesome Game - give 7 reasons why we’re awesome, and tag 7 others to play too! Okay, let's see what we can come up with...
Bugsy: I'm awesome because I've had not one but two surgeries this summer for two different problems, and I haven't let it faze me one little bit. Other than hating the v-e-t visits, I'm still running around the house, getting on top of cabinets and other hiding places, and playing pretty much like normal. I'm Bugsy the Pirate and I can't be stopped!
Sassy: I'm awesome because I have such pretty silky gray furs, I live up to my name with my sassy attitude, and I have a great yawn roar!
Callie: I'm awesome because I can keep my tortie gorgeousness in tip-top shape with minimal grooming - I'm just naturally beautiful!
Roxy: I'm awesome because in addition to of course being a beyond-cute calico, I've figured out the best way to hoard some of the catnip toys!! They're mine, mine, alllll mine!!!!!
Pixie: And I may be the youngest of The Kitty Krew, but I'm the most awesome of all....because not only am I a cool black house panther kitty, but I can also fit my head in this hole in the side of the scratcher thingy! It's way fun to play with the toy inside that way!
For our last two things, we'll give group thoughts. First (sixth? MOL), we're awesome because we're smart enough to have joined the kitty blogging world so we could meet all you neat fun kitty bloggers, and we have made so many great new friends all over the world! That's been way super cool.
And last but not least, we're awesome -- as so many of our kitty blogging friends are -- because we have a loving Mommy and a great furever home where we can live safely with plenty of food and someone who will take care of us when we need it. We luv you, Mommy.
Okay, let's see who we can tag. We know several others have played this already so if we missed/forgot it and name you here, then please just ignore our forgetfulness!
1. All the kitties at Noir's Nook (you kitties should have enough for one each and one group reason!)
2. Tuck (after all, he's nearly a Mancat and this could be like his final exam... MOL!)
3. Milo and Alfie (Alfie will be a Mancat next week too! But Milo, you play also!)
4. Gandalf, Grayson and Whitey (all 3 of you!)
5. Mickey's Musings (all 3 of you too!)
6. Rumblebum (this is for both of you!)
7. Scooter/Kool-Kittie-Krew (Hey cousins! All of you play!)
~~~

Whew! We really do type too much. We need more Wordless ____Day posts or you guys are gonna get tired of us! Teehee!

We're outta here for now, though. Bye peoples!

Thankful Tuesday

Hi peoples! We here at The Kitty Krew, especially Bugsy, have to send a huge mondo shout-out to our "cousins" over at Scooter's blog, also known to most of us as The~Kool~Kittie~Krew (we jointly decided that we must be cousins given the similarity of our name ).

Y'see, they all felt so bad for Bugsy and his surgery, that they wanted to send him a little get well present. And being the Kool Kitties that they are, they said they would send more than one little gift so the other kitties here wouldn't feel left out. Isn't that sweet? So the package arrived yesterday...and you know what that means, right? Photos!! (And a movie! You kitties will rue the day that The Mommy figured out that function of the flashy box thing...)

Here are Pixie and Callie inspecting the package:

And since it's Bugsy's package (it was even addressed to him!), he gets to inspect it too -- gotta sniff carefully to get it all!

This is a shot of the toys and treats with Bugsy and Callie checking it all out. There was a black and white feather toy that's Bugsy's special get well toy, plus a couple of packages of balls, some with jingle bells and some that are simple rubber balls. There were also several small bags of food and treats for us to try! Yummmmy!

There was also a cute kitty get well card, and some kitty has really nice handwriting! This was on the envelope...

Here's another photo of Callie checking things out, the card is over on the left (looks kinda like Ginger Jasper on it, doesn't it?!).

Okay, now we know everycat's been waiting for this...the piece de resistance (or however that's spelled...MOL)...yes, this is it -- Get Well Toy, The Movie! Each of us has a decent role in here, other than -- how's this for irony -- Bugsy, although if you watch quick you can see him in the very beginning, near the top, way in the back. Then he wanders off and kinda hides and you can't see him.

We're frankly not used to swinging toys like this, all the ones we have just lay on the ground and we play with 'em when we want to, so we're not quite sure how to take it...and The Mommy's not quite sure how to handle it either, she keeps swinging it in our faces. So there are a couple of dead spots, but bear with it...it has some really funny spots too (watch for the sneak attacks by Sassy!).

Thank you again so much to The Kool Kittie Krew, it was so very sweet of you to send me and my brother and sisters the toys and treats!

Monday Mancats

Happy Monday, peoples! After chillin' most of the weekend, we plan on doing more of the same today. The Mommy has to go back to that "work" thing, poor dear. She really dislikes Mondays. We miss having her around to wait on us frontpaw and backpaw, but then again, it's kinda nice not to have the flashy box thing in our faces all the time.

Both the mancats wanted to have their say this week, so without further ado, let's let it roll.

Bugsy: I wanted to thank Ann at Zoolatry for making me this very nice Get Well graphic! It just appeared in our mailbox yesterday morning, we had no idea she was doing it. Isn't it adorable? My first pirate appearance!

But the bowtie makes it so much more. Thanks Ann!!

Pixie: All right, all right, now that we got the mushy stuff out of the way, let's get down to the real entertainment. The Mommy got her movie box thingy going again yesterday, and managed to catch a couple of rather amusing vignettes (how's that for a big word for a little kitty?) starring moi.

This first one is a little grainy, 'cause she had to lighten it enough to be able to distinguish me from the dark background; she was also holding the movie box thingy at an angle where she couldn't see the screen while it was recording, so sometimes it doesn't show everything just perfect...but she did a pretty good job for all that (even if she does type so herself ).

So in case you still couldn't tell what was going on, first I was making biscuits on her belly, then after I laid down and she moved the movie box thingy to the other side, I started grabbing at the strap hanging down from the thingy and chewing on it...and even batted at the thingy itself a couple of times! Teehee!

Now this second one has better lighting, we were sitting in sunbeams inside.

All sorts of fun going on! Heeheehee.

We hope everyone has a great Monday to start off the week right!
