This is Thursday

This is the floor vent.

This is Roxy, picking at the floor vent to pull it up out of the floor.

This is Roxy, after she has pulled the vent out of the floor and decided to go 'vent surfing', and gotten caught by The Mommy. Now she's trying to decide whether to come out of the vent.

This is Roxy, checking out the floor vent after it's been taped down by The Mommy.

Any questions?

Roxy actually learned the vent-picking and vent-surfing trick from her little brother, Pixie. He was the first to pry up a vent and go vent surfing. Took a few years off my life! This is the only vent Roxy has tried it on, though she will sniff at others. Pixie will pick at other vents, but so far hasn't gone down in any others, that I'm aware of...at least that aren't already taped down. Nobody except those two have gone vent surfing that I know of. I fear Ziggy will try though, if he sees them picking at vents; he's already a brave and inventive child.

I'm thinking that replacing the ugly boring white vents that screwed down with the pretty decorative vents that don't screw down may not have been such a good idea...

oh my gosh that would give mom a heart attack. I think she'd lock us up in a room with no vents for the rest of our lives. And your duck tape looks like many many places in our house. :( Tesla and hans are masters of destruction.

Andy thinks that would make a grand hidey-hole for him!!!! Luckily our vents are near the ceiling so our bean doesn't have to worry about us vent surfing. xxxxxxxxxx

Go over to Mr Hendrick's place he will have the answer for not to get into things. I am thinking that his mom keeps him off of some of the Christmas stuff by spraying something on things. I think he said apple something? This would keep them away from picking the register thingie up. That looks like a scary place for sure. I have a link to Mr Hendrick's place if you need to find him. Just ask him about it. He is always so helpful.

Oh my, what exiciting adventures a cat can have in those vents. We understand why cat burglars Roxy and Pixie like them so much.

Oh dear. Mom said she can understand your panic. That's enuff to bring on a fit of apoplexy! Tell the kitties: NO!

Roxy! Be careful down there! One time I climbed into the little space at the bottom between the kitchen cabinets and it was hard to get back out. My Mommeh taped a piece of cardboard over it.

Oh...now I wish ours weren't on the ceiling, because I would totally try that...

We don't have any vent pickers or surfers (thank goodness - the kitties will NOT be seeing this post in case it gives them ideas) but when we got Virgil I made Brad replace all the fancy floor vents (almost identical to those) with the other kind because 1) the screw down, 2) they are harder to grab and 3) Virgil was so tiny I though he could fall down the big holes in the fancy ones. So we are kind of the opposite of you in that we went from fancy to boring. When I was growing up we had a cat that would go up into the drop ceiling - but that was less nervewracking because you could always just find the tile and move it to get her. We hope that it stops now that the tape is there!

Ohhhhh, that looks WAY COOL! Alice! Come here and look at this! I didn't know the registers came up out of the floor. And there are caves to explore under there. Um, we'll have to wait until Momma goes to work.....

We can't get our vents off...mom says that's a good thing because we'd be down there just like Roxy...and mom says she doesn't need a heart attack!!

Better close the room with vents and taped a piece of cardboard over it . Careful down there Roxy!

Mom says your kids are naughty and she's glad our vents are in the ceiling cuz I'd be vent surfing too. I think that vent surfing sounds fun - I wonder if they make extra large vents - I tummy is a little round?
